How to read a route page

Each route page gives an approximate off-peak drive time, the pickup and drop-off details that matter at each end, and the traffic, event and weather factors that stretch the trip. Drive times are estimates for light traffic; they are not airline time. For a departure, add the airline check-in and security window to the drive, then add a margin for rush hour or lake-effect snow.

Routes are quoted per itinerary because the exact addresses and vehicle class change the figure. No point-to-point quote is lower than $130 for a sedan or $160 for an SUV. If you need the car at the destination, ask about hourly charter.

Airport routes and intercity routes

The airport routes are short, mostly 15 to 40 minutes, and the details that matter are at the ends: the hotel door or house number in the city, and the meeting point on the confirmation at Hopkins. The intercity routes are highway trips of 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Akron and Canton are reached on I-77 through the Cuyahoga Valley, where a single incident or a snowfall can hold up the whole drive, and Youngstown is reached to the east by way of I-480 and the Ohio Turnpike.

Booking notice for the longer drives

For the short airport routes, same-day requests depend on chauffeur availability. The regional routes need more planning: same-day service is rarely available to Akron-Canton Airport, Canton or Youngstown, and a Youngstown trip is best booked at least 24 hours ahead, preferably several days. Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week in early August fills Canton, so book well ahead for that week.

For a day trip with meetings or a tour at the far end, compare two one-way quotes with an hourly booking. Hourly charter is estimated at $120 per hour for a sedan, $150 for an SUV, $230 for the S-Class and $240 for a Sprinter, with a three-hour minimum, and the chauffeur stays with you between stops.

Picking a vehicle for the distance

On a 15-minute hop from Hopkins to Westlake, a sedan is all most travelers need. On an hour or more of highway, extra room starts to matter, which is why families and small groups heading to Canton or Youngstown often book the SUV.
