After you land at Hopkins

Cleveland Hopkins has one main passenger terminal, which keeps the arrival simple once you know where the reserved car is. When the plane is at the gate, switch your phone on; the chauffeur confirms arrival and the meeting point by phone or message. Collect checked bags at baggage claim first, then follow your confirmation rather than the taxi and app-ride signs.

Prearranged limousines and shuttles under 24 feet are directed to the Ground Transportation Center at the north end of the terminal. Larger vehicles, such as some group vans, use a different controlled area. The taxi stand near carousel 11 and the app-ride roadways are separate systems and do not apply to a reserved chauffeur.

Departures: setting the pickup time

Work backwards from the flight. Take the check-in and security window your airline recommends, add the drive time for your pickup address, then add a margin for the season. From downtown the drive is typically 15 to 25 minutes in light traffic; from the east side, University Circle or Beachwood it is longer. Between November and March, lake-effect snow can slow I-90 along the lake and the I-71 approach, so a bigger margin is sensible on a winter morning.

Choosing the vehicle for a Hopkins run

The Business Sedan suits one or two travelers. The First Class SUV is the better fit for families, heavier luggage or winter gear. A Mercedes S-Class is available for executive arrivals, and a Sprinter is planned for up to twelve people and twelve bags for teams and wedding parties. One-way Hopkins transfers are quoted for your address; if you keep the car afterwards, hourly charter applies with a three-hour minimum.
