Which Cleveland-area airport is closer?

For almost every Cleveland address, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is the closer airport, about 12 miles southwest of downtown and typically 15 to 25 minutes away in light traffic. Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Green, Ohio is roughly 50 miles south of downtown, typically 50 to 60 minutes, and makes sense when the flight or the destination points south. From Independence, CAK is about 30 to 45 minutes.

How airport pickups work

Share the airline and flight number when you book; we use it to plan the pickup around the arrival. At Hopkins, private limousines are prearranged and use the Ground Transportation Center at the north end of the terminal, not the taxi stand or app-ride roadways. At Akron-Canton, limousine pickup is curbside. In both cases, your confirmation lists the meeting point and the chauffeur confirms it when you land. Wait and delay terms are written on the quote.

Airport transfers are one-way itinerary quotes. If you keep the car after landing, the booking becomes hourly charter with a three-hour minimum. See airport transfers for the full process.

Drive times from the neighborhoods

Each airport route has its own page with the approach roads, pickup notes at both ends and seasonal timing. Typical off-peak drive times:

Timing a departure from either airport

Three numbers add up to the pickup time: the drive from your address, the check-in and security window your airline recommends, and a margin for the day. The margin is biggest in winter. From November through March, lake-effect snow slows I-90 and the I-71 approach to Hopkins, and snow in the Cuyahoga Valley slows I-77 on the way to Akron-Canton. Weekday rush and big downtown events add time too. Share the flight time when you book and dispatch will suggest a pickup window.

Matching the vehicle to the luggage

Airport runs are where luggage decides the vehicle. A Business Sedan seats up to three and holds about two large suitcases and two carry-on bags. The First Class SUV seats up to six, with less bag space when the third row is in use, so it is the usual choice for families. The Mercedes S-Class suits an executive arrival, and a Sprinter is planned for up to 12 passengers and 12 bags for teams, tour groups and wedding parties. Give the bag count as well as the passenger count when you book.

For private flights into Burke Lakefront Airport (BKL) on the downtown lakefront, send the operator details through the booking page; those pickups are quoted once the FBO instructions are confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you serve both Cleveland Hopkins and Akron-Canton?

Yes. Both airports are served for arrivals and departures. Burke Lakefront (BKL) pickups are quoted after we confirm the assigned FBO instructions.

Are airport rides priced by the hour?

No. Airport transfers are one-way itinerary quotes. The hourly estimates apply only if you keep the car after the airport run.

How early should I be picked up for a flight?

Add the drive time from your address to the airline’s recommended check-in window, then add a margin for rush hour or winter weather. Dispatch can suggest a pickup window if you share the flight time.

Which vehicle should I book for a family with a lot of luggage?

The First Class SUV seats up to six, but a full third row reduces bag space. For larger families or groups with many bags, ask about a Sprinter.
